Venice For Our 3rd Visit

Since we are staaying outside Venice in Jeselo we needed a 30 minute bus ride to the dock and a 45 boat ride to the city. The boat dropped us very close to St Marks Square. We met our guide and began the walking tour of Venice. Having been before most of the places were familiar to us. St Mark's such does not have free access like the lasts time we were here and all the tickets for the day had been sold although it was only 10 in the morning Needless to say the city was packed with tourist something we found throughout this trip. I liked the explanation of how the doge was selected but it was not hereditary. We saw the palace, bridge of Sighs (where convicted prisoners were led to the jail). We then headed through the maze of streets finally arriving at the Rialto bridge. It was wall to wall people. The first time we were in Venice Judy bought a wool scarf from one of the shops as we had seriously under packed.
A few more twists ans turns and we were at a local restaurant where After a tasting of traditional “Cicchetti” - Venetian-style small plates and a glass of wine we were given timen to explore shop etc. We, we will enjoy free time to explore, shop etc. We found a gelato shop and sat on a step and watched the people go by. We then return to Jesolo on the mainland for our Farewell Dinner! We wiil be leaving for the airport in the middle of the night so this will be our official good byes!
