I
think that we are packed and just about ready to go. Packing for 32
days at sea was a bit different but we seem to be able to do a better
job these days. Part of the problem is that we needed to pack for
really warm weather in Thailand and colder weather in Alaska.
We
have a 13 hour non stop Detroit to Tokyo with a 50 minute layover
before the 7 hour flight to Bangkok with an arrival around midnight.
Next day is at leisure and then we tour for 2 days before getting on
the Diamond Princess.
As
the maps show we start in Thailand and then head to Singapore,
Vietnam Shanghai, Hong Kong and Nagasaki and finally Pusan Korea. As
of now we are still going to Korea but that could change at any time.
The first leg ends in the port for Beijing. The second leg sees us visit Dalian and Pusan. We have been to both ports before. Osaka and Tokyo are the final stops before the 9 day crossing of the Pacific before we get to Whittier (Anchorage) and the flight back to Detroit.
We
have already sailed 190 days plus on Princess (stuck in a rut?) but
now that we attained Elite status we can hardly pass up the perks.
The mini bar and free laundry are just a few of the things that
go along with the staying with one line.
We
will try to post daily (?) if we can. We always find that
sailing is an adventure and this should not be any different. Now if
we can just sort out all the different currencies we should have a
good time. Plenty of touring to be done in all the ports!
At
the bottom of each post is a small icon that looks like an envelop.
If you open it, you are able to post messages to the blog which can
read. It is always nice to read the comments of people following.
